Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a project? +

From the home screen, tap the "+" button to create an inspection project. Give it a name and start adding defects using the camera.

How does the watermarking work? +

When you capture a defect photo, NDT Vault automatically stamps the image with the defect ID, timestamp, category, and dimensions. The original un-watermarked photo is also saved. Both versions are available when exporting or sharing.

Can I use the app without an internet connection? +

Yes! NDT Vault is offline-first. All data is stored locally on your device. You can capture defects, manage equipment, build reports, and do everything else without an internet connection. Cloud features activate when connectivity is available.

How do I share a project with my team? +

Open a project, tap the share icon, and choose "Cloud Share" or "Collaborate". A 6-character code will be generated. Share this code with teammates — they can join using the same code in their app, or view the project on the web at ndtvault.botor.io.

How do I track equipment calibration? +

Go to the Equipment tab, add your instruments with serial numbers and calibration dates. The app will show which equipment is calibrated (green), due soon (gold), or overdue (red) with clear color-coded badges.

What inspection report types are supported? +

NDT Vault supports 6 report types: Magnetic Particle (MT), Penetrant (PT), Phased Array (PA), UT Thickness, UT Weld, and Visual Inspection. Each form follows industry conventions with fields for procedures, acceptance criteria, equipment, and findings.

What defect review statuses are available? +

Defects can be marked as: Not Reviewed (default), Repaired (requires new photo), Progression (requires new photo), Static (no change), or Missed (couldn't locate). This builds a complete review history for every defect.

How do I export my data? +

Open a project and tap the share/export icon. You can generate a PDF report with all defect details and photos, or export a ZIP archive with watermarked and/or original photos.

How do I delete my account and data? +

Local data is removed when you delete the app. To delete your cloud account and associated data, contact us at edisoniverbotor@gmail.com and we will process your request within 30 days.
